Guest comments (and our replies!)

We have asked our guests for comments about our chalet, both positive and negative, this could be a risky strategy!!  But, we would like to provide the best chalet in the valley, and feedback is vital:

What can I say about your chalet, but WOW!  We were all very impressed - it really was a home from home. In past years we have taken everything with us like knives, garlic presses.... but your kitchen was great - and my mother-in-law, and wife were well in their element! I think this is the first chalet where we've actually been able to cook properly, and what a treat it was! (Cooking is a passion of mine too! and I didn't want to offer our guests anything less than I would  want to find in a chalet)

The very moment from finding your chalet on the Owners Direct website to speaking to you, and subsequently Mike  - the whole experience was great - you have good set up -  what an achievement!

This is by far the best chalet that we've stayed in in all the years of ski-ing, we typically stay in the CGH Residences (Les Chalets des Gypse in St. Martin de Belleville, and Les Clarines in Les Menuires). The best accommodation we ever stayed in was a hotel in Courchevel called Le Kilimandjaro which is a 5* Hotel - and your chalet is on a par with this. (my turn to say WOW!! thanks!) There is a real feel of luxury - you have made your chalet to feel very warm and comfortable! As you may recall, we typically go to the 3 Vallees year in year out, but sadly they couldn't accommodate us this year - it's their loss, as I really do think we've found a little gem in Le Chinaillon, and will be returning! Thank you for giving up your time when we chatted on the phone - you really did help me to make my decision to stay at your chalet.

Living Area / Kitchen What a fantastic space, which works really well - there really is enough room for everyone.  In terms of the kitchen - it really is excellent as I've already mentioned above my mother-in-law and wife were really in their element - but what a fantastic kitchen - you really do have everything! It's a chef delight! There were plenty of bowls / dishes / utensils / sharp knives / garlic press etc - and they were decent not just cheap utensils that tend to break very quickly.

It was also great to be able to come back from a hard day's ski-ing and sit in front of the fire with a G&T or glass of wine - such a relaxing experience, and this is the other great thing about your Chalet, there's enough space for everyone - so whether you wanted to read a book, or the oldies wanted to play bridge or the younger ones wanted to watch a movie everyone could do their own thing. Excellent!

Bedrooms  Wow - every room was a great size - my wife and I took the room with the beds under the eaves - and our children loved their beds - they thought it was great to have a little den - my son was especially excited! But seriously all, the rooms are a great size, and are so much bigger than in the pictures. Again this beats the apartments we've stayed in recently - you've actually got walking space around the beds, and again our room the kids had space to play.  The only comment that our group had, was there wasn't enough hanging space (We are trying to work on this, but have not found the ideal solution yet)

Downstairs  What a great space, it was great to give my father-in-law a thrashing at table tennis! It would be great to have one of the rooms as a Cinema room (it is part of the bigger plan, both sauna and cinema room - although sadly finances don't permit it quite yet!!)

Toys I know it's not always possible, but it would be great to have a section on your website detailing what toys you have - we always take some of our children's favourite toys, and this year we took we my son's train track - what a lovely surprise to find 2x big boxes of track at the chalet. Ours never came out! We have DVD's (all ages), Brio train track (lots), Duplo (lots), board games, jigsaws, table tennis.

 February 2010, Chris (UK) -

"We had a lovely week thank you, and your chalet is everything you promised and more. We loved it.

Chalet accommodation - excellent. We had two families of 5 and 4 respectively and there was ample space. The kids loved the games area in the cellar....could only be bettered by the addition of a pool table (To be added along with a sauna, as soon as we can afford them!!!)Beautiful open plan living/kitchen/dining area. The fire is superb -We loved sitting in front of that with a glass of red and chance to re-live the day's fun. I particularly enjoyed your audio system. Someone obviously enjoys their audio and visual kit.  (Yes my husband does!) Beds and bedding were very comfortable, but a number in our party found the all feather quilts gave slightly blocked noses! (I should leave a note in the chalet, I am aware not everyone  likes feather, so half the pillows and half the duvets are feather and the others are synthetic - if allergic please check and you will find exactly half of each), very child friendly (we have 3!)

Equipment - We wanted for nothing...  except kindling, it seems bizarre to include logs, paper, matches and a fire but no kindling (Sorry! in future we will ensure that there is a bag of kindling with each rental - if more than one bag is needed, it is available at the Spar for €10 a bag).

Cleanliness - very good Thanks

General - We loved it, beautiful chalet, great modern and stylish decor. Comfortable, relaxing and a real home from home. You have a fantastic place there and we will book again if and when we next return to Chinaillon (THANK YOU!)

Whilst I know you wanted any areas for improvement...they are tiny"

(Letter left in chalet) Thank you very much for providing such a beautiful and comfortable chalet for the use of people such as ourselves.  We really have appreciated the quality and comfort provided within the chalet.  The entertainment choices (DVD's, Brio, Duplo, jigsaws, games and ping pong) were enjoyed by the younger members of our group.  (Thank you, your letter was much appreciated)
